Apple has launched the new AirPods 5 in India, bringing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), an updated acoustic design and several new audio features to its standard AirPods lineup.
The company says the new AirPods 5 can reduce up to 50 percent more external noise compared with AirPods 4 with ANC. The earbuds also feature next-generation Adaptive EQ, Personalised Spatial Audio and an updated Transparency mode.
Apple has also added new Siri and Live Translation capabilities when the AirPods are paired with compatible Apple devices.
Apple AirPods 5 Price in India and Availability
The Apple AirPods 5 are priced at Rs. 14,900 in India. The version with a Wireless Charging Case is priced at Rs. 17,900.
Both models are available for pre-order in India, with sales scheduled to begin on September 18.
The standard model comes with a regular charging case, while the higher-priced variant includes a Wireless Charging Case and additional controls on the stems.
Apple AirPods 5 Features
The AirPods 5 come with Active Noise Cancellation, which Apple claims can reduce up to 50 percent more external noise than the previous AirPods 4 with ANC.
The earbuds also support Adaptive Audio, Transparency mode and Conversation Awareness. The latter can automatically lower media volume when the user starts speaking.
For audio performance, Apple has introduced a new multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ. The company says this helps deliver more detailed audio across different ear shapes.
The AirPods 5 also support Personalised Spatial Audio for a more immersive listening experience.
Siri and Live Translation
The new AirPods 5 support hands-free Siri features when connected to a compatible iPhone.
Users can interact with Siri using simple head gestures, while Live Translation can translate conversations through the earbuds when used with compatible Apple hardware, software and Apple Intelligence features.
Apple says some of these capabilities require compatible devices and the latest software updates.
AirPods 5 Battery Life
Apple claims that the AirPods 5 can deliver up to five hours of listening time with ANC enabled on a single charge.
With the charging case, total listening time can reach up to 22 hours, according to the company.
The Wireless Charging Case variant also adds stem-based controls that allow users to adjust volume by swiping up or down.
Improved Durability and Recycled Materials
Apple has also improved the AirPods 5’s resistance to dust, sweat and water, making them better suited to everyday use and workouts.
The company says the new earbuds and charging case use recycled materials, including recycled plastic in the wireless charging case and recycled cobalt in the battery.
AirPods 5 vs AirPods 4
The AirPods 5 bring several upgrades to Apple’s standard AirPods range, particularly with ANC and improved audio processing.
The addition of features such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Personalised Spatial Audio, hands-free Siri interactions and Live Translation also makes the new model more closely aligned with Apple’s premium audio ecosystem.
However, feature availability depends on the paired Apple device, operating system, firmware and region.
